'Barrel Of Bricks': Widely known in the building industry, this myth involves bricks, a barrel, a pulley, a scaffold and an unfortunate builder.
'Third Rail': Your at the station, the toilets are locked and you're desperate. A pee on the tracks looks inviting but could poor aim and an electrified rail cause unforseen and deadly consequences?
'Eel Skin Wallet': Could an eel skin wallet made from electric eels demagnetise your credit cards? Seems unlikey but the boys have heard it happens, a myth busting challenge they can't refuse.

MYTHBUSTERS - VOLUME 2
The hit TV series investigating the claims of bizarre urban legend and modern misconceptions, by putting them to the test. 'Buried Alive': It's everyone's nightmare, to wake up in your coffin six feet under. We've all heard of scratch marks found on the inside of coffin lids but could it really happen?
'Cola Myths': We all know that soaking a coin in cola will at least clean it and at most dissolve it. But are these extraordinary properties fact or fiction?
'Bridge Jump': Heard of the bridge worker who fell from a bridge but survived by breaking the surface of the water below with his hammer? Would it work?
'Lightning Strikes': From the realms of the truly bizarre, the Mythbusters test the proposition that wearing a tongue stud increases your chance of being hit by lightning.
'Tree Cannon': The story goes that in medieval Hungary, villagers built a cannon out of a tree. Unfortunately it exploded killing the majority of them rather than the enemy. Jamie and Adam ponder how to construct such a weapon, how to fire it and how to make it explode.

'Racoon Rocket': Jamie and Adam get to indulge their love of explosions in this redneck myth. The redneck in question apparently tried to flush a raccoon out of a drainage pipe by pouring petrol into the drain, crawling in to light it and being blown out like a human cannonball.
'Alcatraz Escape': We know three bank robbers spent months tunnelling out of their cells and constructing a raft out of raincoast before making the break from the infamous Alcatraz. What we dont know is what became of them. Did they drown or make it out alive? Our mythbusters risk life and limb in a bid to solve the mystery.
'Duck's Quacks Dont Echo': This myth is a regular on trivia lists of obscure 'facts', but is it true?
'Mind Control Chips': It's on the internet so it must be true! Our governments are controlling our minds by injecting microchips in to us when we give blood. Jamie and Adam go undercover to make a donation.

MYTHBUSTERS - VOLUME 4
The hit TV series investigating the claims of bizarre urban legends and modern misconceptions, by putting them to the test. Chicken Gun: The story goes that the British used a NASA designed Chicken Gun to test the windscreens of their high speed trains. Apparently the British asked NASA why the chickens were smashing the train windscreens easily. NASA replied, “Thaw the chickens.” The Mythbusters set out to explore the truth. The results are devastating. Octopus Pregnancy: The tale is told of a young woman who inadvertently swallowed octopus eggs. Nine months later after complaining of cramps she gave birth to a baby octopus. Killer Laundry: Could a man be fatally assaulted and killed by his dirty laundry and washing machine? One urban legend said a man overloaded the machine, jumped on the clothing to pack it in, knocked the on-switch and spun around furiously. Explosive Decompresion: We’ve all seen the Hollywood movies when a bad guy shoots a hole in a passenger jet and everyone gets sucked out the hole into the sky. Would it really happen? Frog Giggin': “Frog Giggin” means “hunting frogs”. It's on the way home from a frog hunt that this bizarre tale takes place. A blown fuse replaced by a bullet sets the scene for an embarrassed hunter with an unusual groin injury. Rear Axle: In classic film “American Graffiti”, a character ties a cable to the rear axle of a police car. He taunts the cops, they go to chase him, and as they take off the cable tears the rear axle from under their car. The Mythbusters burn rubber in a hi-octane recreation!

MYTHBUSTERS - VOLUME 5
The hit TV series investigating the claims of bizarre urban legends and modern misconceptions, by putting them to the test. Titanic: Would a sinking ship exert a deadly pull on people in the water? Survivors of the Titanic said they were rowed away from the doomed vessel because of the vortex caused by the ship’s sinking action. Explosive Trombone: There is a story of an adventurous trombone player who thought he would liven up a performance of the 1812 overture. Apparently he placed an explosive inside his trombone. The plan was to aim high at the ultimate moment and fire above the conductor’s head. The result was disastrous. Goldfish Memory: Do goldfish have a memory longer than 3 seconds? It is theorised that fish in a bowl complete lap after lap with no recollection of the previous circuit. The Mythbuster’s set out to challenge the theory and themselves by attempting to train goldfish to remember. Breakstep Bridge: Jamie and Adam go on the offensive against an old piece of Army lore, which dictates soldiers march out of step when they cross a bridge. It’s thought the regular, rhythmic foot falls of a troop marching in time is enough to set a bridge vibrating, and it’s feared that vibration might cause the bridge to collapse. Row Skiing: Jamie and Adam can’t resist testing an old rowing boast, that a rowing crew is strong and fast enough to pull a water skier. Toothbrush Surprise: Can material in your toilet bowl aerate when flushed, and waft onto your toothbrush? It’s a secret, unspoken fear in many a household, but the answer will soon be at hand. The results may well have you rethinking your washroom arrangements.

MYTHBUSTERS - VOLUME 6
The hit TV series investigating the claims of bizarre urban legends and modern misconceptions, by putting them to the test. The Hunt for Hoffa: Jimmy Hoffa, champion of worker’s rights, and powerful Teamsters boss, disappeared without trace in 1975. It is widely believed he was the victim of a Mafia hit, but his body has never been found. Urban legend has it that Hoffa was buried in the concrete of the Giants Stadium in New Jersey. Jet Taxi: According an internet news site, a Brazilian Taxi was blown off an airport access road by a 737 jet preparing to take off. For Jamie and Adam, it is an irresistible mix of noisy machines, and destruction. Daddy Longlegs: In Daddy Longlegs, the Mythbusters set out to answer the age-old myth that the Daddy Longlegs is really the world’s most venomous spider, but their fangs are too small to bite through human skin. Ancient Death Ray: In this episode the Mythbusters attempt to solve one of the world’s oldest myths. In 215BC, did the Greek scientist Archimedes set fire to a Roman fleet using only mirrors and the reflected rays of the sun? Skunk Cleaning: The team puts itself in harm’s way at the business end of a fully-loaded skunk, to see if tomato juice really is the best way to get rid of the smell, and if not, what is? What Is Bulletproof?: Adam wants to know for sure whether bulletproof material really is bulletproof. At the shooting range, the boys take aim at the shield with a variety of weapons. Will it stop a bullet?

MYTHBUSTERS - VOLUME 7
Elevator Of Death: Jamie and Adam look to answer the question lurking in the back of the mind of anyone who’s ridden an elevator in a high rise building: If this suddenly falls, can I save myself by jumping up just as it’s about to hit the bottom? Levitation Machine: Is it possible to build a levitation machine from appliances found around the house? If anyone can, it’s Jamie and Adam, but they won’t be working together on this one. They will pit their building skills and imagination against each other, to see who can come up with the better craft. Killer Appliances: Want to get rid of someone? According to filmmakers, all you have to do is wait until they’re relaxing in the bath, drop an electrical appliance into the tub, and watch the sparks fly. Adam and Jamie find out what actually happens when hairdryer and H2O meet. And not just hairdryers… How about toasters? Or clock radios? Or an iron? Quicksand: It was Tarzan’s greatest ally. Killer quicksand. Those gluggy, boggy death pits swallowed Johnny Weissmuller’s enemies with monotonous regularity. But is it real? Can you be sucked right under, never to be seen again? Exploding Tattoos: The build team are on the case of the mysterious Exploding Tattoo. Tattoos have supposedly exploded during MRI scans. Just so happens builder Scottie has an armful of ink. Will she brave the MRI machine in the name of science?

MYTHBUSTERS - VOLUME 8
Ping Pong Salvage: Adam and Jamie try out a myth which first surfaced in a Donald Duck cartoon way back in the 1940s: raising a sunken boat from the seabed using ping pong balls. Having established that the principle of ping pong salvage is plausible in theory, Adam and Jamie scout around for a suitable vessel. The big question remains do the guys have the balls to float their boat? Carried Away: The build team take center stage to answer the question raised by countless Hollywood movies – just how many fairground balloons would it take to lift a kid and whisk her off into the wild blue yonder? Exploding House: An unfortunate home-owner is beset by roaches. To kill them, he buys bug foggers. One would have been enough for his tiny house, but in his desperation he buys more than a dozen, and sets them off. He leaves the house while it’s fogged, which is recommended, but urban legend has it that the oven pilot light ignites the gas, blowing his home to pieces. Is it possible? Needle In A Haystack: Jamie and Adam compete to find out how hard it really is to literally find a needle in a haystack. Each builds a machine they think will do the job. Each has a thousand pounds of hay to search. And each has four needles to find, including one made of bone to confound metal detectors and magnets. Talking To Plants: The build team has a two month mission to determine if talking nicely to your plants makes them grow better. They also test classical music and death metal. The painstaking experiment takes its toll on Tori, Scottie and Kari, but the results are clear, and surprising.

MYTHBUSTERS - VOLUME 9
Ming Dynasty Astronaut: According to legend, the first man in space was not Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, but the lesser known Wan Hu, a Chinese Astrologer. It is said that in 1500 AD or thereabouts, Wan Hu decided to take advantage of China’s recently invented gunpowder rocket technology and blast his way towards the stars. But did he make it to the stars? Or did he just go straight to heaven? Free Energy: Adam and Jamie try to subvert the laws of science by getting something for nothing in the power stakes. Free energy fanatics claim that it is possible to create energy for free, gratis and for nothing, and the guys set out to nail this myth once and for all. Killer Fan: A classic myth takes shape as the build team prepare a ghoulishly realistic dummy for the chop at the hands of a ceiling fan. Adam and Jamie guide the youngsters on their way as they test out reports that tangling with a fan will leave you with more than a headache. Salsa Escape: Adam and Jamie investigate the myth that in 1996, Mexican prisoner Juan Lopez escaped from his jail cell using salsa. It sounds like the tallest of tall stories, but according to a jailbreak website, Lopez applied salsa to his cell bars for six years, causing them to corrode, then removed the bars and slipped away to freedom. Cement Truck Mix Up: The entire gang is involved in testing out a construction industry myth. Can you remove cement build up from a cement mixer’s barrel, using dynamite? According to some cement truck drivers, illegal fireworks like M80s and Cherry Bombs can do the trick. Take one cement truck, add 850 pounds of high explosive, and what have you got left?
