APOCALYPSE NOW REDUX
APOCALYPSE NOW REDUX - The definitive version of Francis Ford Coppola's stunning retelling of Joseph Conrad's classic novella "Hearts of Darkness" set against the Vietnam War stars Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Laurence Fishburne, Dennis Hopper and Harrison Ford.
Nominated for 8 Academy Awards, the story tracks the journey of Captain Willard (Martin Sheen), a U.S. Army intelligence officer sent on a hazardous mission up river into Cambodia to terminate "with extreme prejudice" an American renegade colonel named Kurtz (Marlon Brando) who has spun out of control and out of his mind in a remote jungle compuond.
Featuring 49 minutes of never-before-seen footage Francis Ford Coppola states "Ultimately, my aim with APOCALYPSE NOW REDUX was to achieve a richer, fuller and more textured film experience that, as with the original, lets audiences feel what Vietnam was like: the immediacy, the insanity, the exhilaration, the horror, the sensuousness and the moral dilemma of America's most surreal and nightmarish war."

BATTLE OF BRITAIN / BRIDGE AT REMAGEN / BRIDGE TOO FAR
Battle of Britain: A magnificent war epic about the greatest air battle in history, when the outnumbered RAF fought off an invasion by the powerful German Luftwaffe. Packed with vivid and exciting action which used over 100 vintage aircraft in filming and boasting an all-star cast headed by Laurence Olivier.
The Bridge at Remagen: In 1945, the Allies are making their final advance into German territory, and only one strategic bridge on the Rhine River remains in Nazi hands. Both sides have much to gain: the Germans, the lives of 50,000 soldiers stationed on the wrong side of the bridge; and the Allies, a quicker end to the war with fewer lives lost. Though both armies would fight valiantly, only one could win the heart-rending battle.
A Bridge Too Far: In September 1944, flush with the success after the Normandy invasion, the Allies confidently launched Operation Market Garden, a bold plan to drop 35,000 British paratroops into Eastern Holland and to secure the six major bridges leading to the German border to end World War II by the end of 1944. But a combination of battlefield politics, faulty intelligence, bad luck and even worse weather led to disaster. Based on the Cornelius Ryan best-selling novel.

DAM BUSTERS, THE
Dr. Barnes Wallis was possessed with a seemingly crazy idea – the creation of the bouncing bomb designed to destroy the Ruhr dams and paralyse the enemy’s industrial nerve centre. He fought persistent scepticism and disbelief that such a feat was possible. Through the matchless skill, determination and courage of the R.A.F. Wing Commander Guy Gibson and his squadron, the mission succeeded. From today’s perspective, the concept can only be described as one of brilliant inspiration.
Thrilling action and riveting suspense are combined in the true-life drama of this heroic exploit, heightened with actual newsreels of the legendary raid.

DAMBUSTERS - THE TRUE STORY
On the Night of May 16-17 1943, Lancasters of 617 Squadron, using bouncing bombs devised by Barnes Wallis, destroyed the Mohne and Eder dams in the Ruhr valley.
It was one of the most brilliant feats of bombing ever achieved. The special bombs had to be dropped from an altitude of precisely sixty feet with no margin for error – all the while under fire.
The Dam Busters Raid, as it has since become known, was also one of the most dangerous missions of the war. Of the nineteen Lancasters which took part, eight were lost and a further two seriously damaged. Wing Commander Guy Gibson, who led the attack, was subsequently awarded the Victoria Cross.
DAMBUSTERS; THE TRUE STORY offers a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the mission. It features exclusive interviews with surviving pilots from the raid, as well as a fascinating insight into the development of the bouncing bomb given by Wallis’s designer. This historic DVD includes previously unseen archive film of the Dambusters’ Lancasters testing the bouncing bomb just before the raids, as well as a visit to the Tornados of today’s 617 Squadron, inheritors of an heroic tradition.
