Buuels neglected English language masterpiece, THE YOUNG ONE is a taut comedy thriller set on a bayou island game reserve. When a Southern black jazz musician, Traver, is accused of raping a white woman he flees to this small island.

Here he is befriended by a beautiful teenage orphan, but unfortunately for Traver, the girl is beloved by the islands racist old game keeper, sparking a violent conflict between the two men.
