Product Description

The Storm Boy DVD is the original 1976 classic Australian movie.

The Storm Boy DVD is an extraordinary Australian film of a boy growing up close to nature, isolated from the comforts and disciplines of a conventional upbringing, has enchanted generations.

Based on the children’s novel by Colin Thiele, Storm Boy has proven an Australian favourite for over 35 years.

Set in the Coorong in South Australia, Mike ‘Storm Boy’ Kingsley (11-year-old Greg Rowe, Blue Fin, The Last Wave) lives in a wildlife sanctuary around a salt water inlet. The film focuses on his friendship with a wild pelican and ‘Fingerbone Bill’ (David Gulpilil), who teaches the boy about the land, sea and the native people.

A beautifully crafted film for both children and adults, Storm Boy has a simple, direct story, fine performances and marvellously photographed scenes of sublime natural beauty.

Winner of the 1977 AFI Award for Best Film.

Note: All our DVDs are new Australian region 4 DVDs made for Australian DVD players.
