It's 1890, and we find ourselves in Vigata, and during a play of The Passion of Christ, the director of the Trinacria Bank disappears mysteriously. Unlikely partners Deputy Bellavia and Officer Guimarro set out to discover the truth. But what a complex truth it is. The final report triggers a wave of panic that is felt from Rome all the way to the heart of Sicily.
