Based on the novel of the same name by Fredric Brown, Screaming Mimi is a wild noir starring Anita Ekberg (La Dolce Vita) and famous burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee.

When Virginia Wilson witnesses a man get shot right after he tries to kill her, she goes to psychiatrist Dr. Greenwood. He falls in love with her and takes over her life, but she insists on continuing her career as a stripper.

Later loosely remade as The Bird with the Crystal Plumage by Dario Argento, Screaming Mimi is a unique slice of film noir, described as "a delusional film that seems fit for fetishists, voyeurs, [and] those seeking a lurid oddball film" by film critic Dennis Schwartz.
