Taxi is a classic sitcom that centres around the eclectic staff of a New York city cab company. The core of the company is disillusioned Alex (Judd Hirsch), who’s sure he will be driving a cab for the rest of his life. But for frustrated actor Bobby (Jeff Conaway), struggling boxer Tony (Tony Danza), art gallery receptionist Elaine (Marilu Henner), the cab company is just a temporary job that can be left behind when they make it in their chosen professions.
