He falls in with a crowd of students who are all senior to him but who have been kept down in the first year. Doctor At Sea: Dirk Bogarde plays Simon Sparrow, who is bored of practicing medicine on dry land so sets off for the sea. Aboard a steamship he encounters various eccentric characters whilst getting himself into his usual scrapes and blundering his way through a series of comedy moments. Love interest comes in the delectable form of Brigitte Bardot, in her first role for British audiences.

Doctor At Large: Losing out to Dr Bingham (Michael Medwin) in a competition for house surgeon when he offends a member of the board, young Dr Simon Sparrow finds himself going from post to post, filling in for other physicians. At one distant country post, he is taken aback when he works with a patient whose husband died after Simon treated the man years before. In another hospital, Simon examines a surprisingly mature teen and also tries courting devoted nurse Nan McPherson (Shirley Eaton).

Doctor In Love: Sir Lancelot Spratt is giving his medical students a slating to remember over a patient. The patient himself is Dr Richard Hare, a student who has fallen ill with jaundice and, due to the enticing Night Nurse, has fallen in love. So too, however, has the doctor attending his case, and both are shattered when she walks out of their lives. After recovering, Richard sets off to troubled pastures new, and no sooner has he fallen in love again, then along comes his formerly beloved Night Nurse!

Doctor In Distress: After injuring his back in a fall, Sir Lancelot Spratt (James Robertson Justice), the pompous medical director at a London hospital, falls in love with his physical therapist, Iris (Barbara Murray). Softened by this encounter, Spratt seeks romantic advice from Simon Sparrow, a suave young doctor who has also become enamoured of a woman--Delia (Samantha Eggar), a beautiful would-be actress. The two doctors attempt to court their respective loves--with mixed results.

DoctorIn Clover: British Dr Grimsdyke (Leslie Phillips) and his surgeon mentor, Sir Lancelot, disrupt a hospital dance and a televised operation.

Doctor In Trouble: Our hero, Dr Burke, greatly resents the success of the heart-throb television doctor, Basil Beauchamp (alias Dr Dare). When Basil is admitted to hospital under his care, he is about to relish in the situation until Sir Lancelot, a fan of Dr Dare, takes over and announces that he needs a holiday. Burke, meanwhile, is after a US medical post, but for this he needs be married. He has chosen a model as bride to be and follows her on a cruise. What he discovers is that she is in fact on the same boat as Dr Dare and is one of the women attempting to woo him!
