The Rookie Season 5 DVD follows John Nolan who fulfills his dream of joining the LAPD, but skeptics dare bring him down because he's the oldest rookie.

The Rookie DVD. Officer John Nolan is once again face-to-face with serial killer Rosalind Dyer. Officers Bradford and Chen work undercover with Detective Lopez and the Las Vegas Police Department to arrest leaders of a major criminal enterprise. Officer John Nolan is moving closer to his new role as a training officer. Meanwhile, Lucy's successful undercover assignment earns her an invitation for specialized training in Sacramento.

As a reward for his heroic stand down at the border, Nolan is offered a "Golden Ticket", his choice of assignment in the LAPD. His fellow officers (and Bailey) all have suggestions for him but the chief urges him to think it over before deciding. While Tim and Lucy continue their undercover assignment with Roy's crew, Nolan and Grey assist with securing the courthouse for the trial of Rosalind Dyer.
