The Fiat G.55 Centauro was an Italian fighter plane from World War II, designed by Fiat. It first flew in 1942 and was considered one of the best fighters produced by Italy at the time. It was powered by a German Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine, which gave it good speed and maneuverability. Armed with cannons and machine guns, the G.55 stood out for its superior performance at high altitudes. Although its production was limited, it gained the respect of both Italian and German pilots.
