Dr. Lahela "Doogie" Kamealoha is excited to experience some of life's firsts on her 16th birthday, but her responsibilities at the hospital and her parents get in the way of her plans. Lahela uses the scientific method to treat an athletic young man who's lost all feeling in his legs and determine Walter's true feelings following their first kiss. Lahela takes the family car without permission after getting her driver's license and taking the advice of a local celebrity weatherman she's treating. Lahela must perform an appendectomy on Walter just as she considers defining their relationship, while Clara decides to go part-time after missing another family milestone.
