    I am from RI & Ruby was our own special hero dog. All the happenings in the movie are TRUE. The amazing unbelievable rescue & the circumstances around it are true & not some writer's fantastic imagination. Ruby proved that though she was deemed unadoptable, they were all wrong. She had a higher purpose in this life & proved what a great dog she really was! Note: the dog that played her was rescued by the trainers shortly before she was to die. EVERY thing she did in the movie was learned in 6 weeks of training. She was also part border collie like Ruby was.

    Based on a true story, this movie delivers on all levels. It is a story about the amazing capabilities of dogs, the resilience and perseverance of a police officer who has struggled with dyslexia but refuses to give up on his dreams of joining the canine unit. I also loved the emphasis placed on the importance of the support both Ruby and the officer received from his wife and family, colleagues and community. In an increasingly cynical and troubled world, this movie just makes you happy and hopeful.

    Rescued By Ruby is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Being a dog and law enforcement lover, this movie is worth buying.... After watching this movie, I can see why it’s called Rescued by Ruby (the dog. Instead of the other way around, because actually, the officer adopts Ruby, a rambunctious year old Border Collie mix who shares the officers same spirit. The truth is, they both need and end up saving each other. Please watch it. You will not be disappointed! Grab a tissue. It’s very sweet.
